# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It's ready faster than you can say the word hojicha, perfect for when you need something immediately.
  • The roasted tea has this naturally mellow flavor that doesn't need much sweetening, so it actually tastes like tea, not dessert.
  • You can make it with whatever milk you have on hand, and it'll taste just as good whether you're using dairy, oat, or almond.
02 -
  • If you use boiling water, the hojicha will taste oddly bitter, so that temperature thing actually matters even though it seems fussy.
  • Dissolving the maple syrup in warm tea instead of cold liquid is the difference between a smooth drink and one that has sticky syrup sitting at the bottom of your glass.
03 -
  • Buy loose leaf hojicha if you can because it tastes noticeably better than tea bags, and it's usually cheaper too.
  • Keep your ice cubes in a sealed container so they don't absorb random freezer smells that'll show up in your drink.
