Ingredients
- 25-30 round peppermint hard candies: red-and-white striped
Instructions
- Preheat oven:
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Prepare baking sheet:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Arrange candies:
- Unwrap the peppermint candies and arrange them in a tight circular pattern touching but not overlapping on the prepared baking sheet. Start with one candy at the center and surround it with rings of candies until you reach your desired bowl size usually about 6-7 inches in diameter.
- Bake:
- Bake for 7-9 minutes watching closely. The candies should melt together and become glossy but not bubble or brown. Remove immediately when fully fused.
- Cool slightly:
- Allow the melted candies to cool for 1 minute just until pliable but not too hot to handle.
- Shape bowl:
- Carefully lift the melted candy disk with the parchment and drape it over an inverted bowl heat-safe glass or metal pressing gently to shape it. Let it cool completely to harden about 30 minutes.
- Remove form:
- Once fully set gently remove the candy bowl from the mold and peel away the parchment.
